A function to disburse charity measures by the charity wing of Vijay’s fan club was held at Pondicherry. After the distribution of the charity, Vijay got set to answer questions from the fans.

What should India do to become a top power is a question to be aimed at someone like Abdul Kalam , but it was asked of Vijay. "Parents go to so much trouble to educate their kids. The brilliant students go overseas and settle down there. Instead of going abroad, if these people stay here in India and work for ourselves, India could become a top nation to reckon with in 5 years."

Another question was, was he not interested in joining politics?

"I won’t say I’m not interested in politics. I like politics. But I’m not of that age yet. This is not the time for me to enter politics. There is a lot to learn about politics. I have to prepare myself, so I have to think slowly about all these things before entering politics," said Vijay.

A few days back, Vijay had said in an interview to a newspaper “Vettaikaran will release 100 percent on Diwali day 2009. It's racy entertainer which will be a treat to watch. The audio of the film which has music by Vijay Antony will release in the first week of September. My son Sanjay has danced with me for a song in the film."

Meanwhile K.S Ravikumar is going about the post production work of his Aadhavan at a rapid pace.

The film’s business deals are also happening, and most areas have been sold out. Added to that, theatres across Tamil Nadu are giving preference to the film as Suriya’s last release Ayan was a super hit.

A remake of Vijay starrer ‘Pokkiri’, the movie is produced by Sridevi Kapoor, her husband Boney Kapoor and Surendra Kapoor.

Justice G Rajasuria passed the orders on an affidavit filed by G G Photo Limited represented by its director Sushil Gupta, who has filed a civil suit for recovery of Rs.6.74 crore.

According to Sushil Gupta, the claims arouse out of assistance rendered and raw film stock supplied during the production of the film. Stating that he had letters, agreements and cheques to prove the claim, Gupta said in his petition that “all cheques, agreements and letters were duly signed and given voluntarily by the defendants.”

Charmi came into this project after Mamta Mohandas stepped out due to "severe fever". Sources say that for the last one week, Kamal and Dileep were franticaly hunting for a heroine and finally chose Charmi since as the heroine in this film is required to display glamour. A comic thriller, this film is jointly written by Kalavoor Ravikumar and Kamal. Tamil actor Sathyaraj reportedly plays an important role in this film.

On Sunday, Vinayaga Chathurthi day (August 23), Vijay and his VMI with the tacit support of ruling Congress party in Puducherry (Pondycherry), held a huge public meeting, which was attended by Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaidyalingam. Sify.com team has an exclusive peak of the event.

The meeting was organised by Vijay's Pudhucherry fan club president and Puducherry Munetra Congress MLA, N Anand. Nearly 50,000 people crowded the Anna Thidal (stadium) in the heart of the city. For poor and needy students, he started computer training centers and distributed cycles.

Vijay made a short speech in which he urged the youth to take up social work and help the poor and needy. N.Anand, local MLA urged the crowd to ask- "Why can't Vijay enter politics?"

Vijay's carefully worded reply was, "I will never say that I have no desire for politics, but it is like a big ocean. I feel that one has to go step by step and study the issue before plunging into it."

Vijays's fans went delirious when he said a typical punchline, when a student asked him whether he will enter politics : "Ithu Vere Vazhi, Varuvendi Nerathu Varum! (It's a different route, I will come at the right time).

He then looks up at the huge crowd and in filmi style nods his head and asks- "OK?", which resulted in thunderous ovation.

Denying reports that she denied playing the role when approached by the film’s director, the yesteryear heartthrob says, “No one has offered me the role so far. I am ready to act with Dhanush if such an offer comes my way.”

Produced by Nemichand Jhabak and directed by Suraaj, the movie’s script, inspired by a Rajinikanth blockbuster of the same title, would undergo some minor changes to suit to the taste of the present generation.

In the original version, late actress Srividya played the character of villainy mom-in-law. The story of the film goes like this- the hero (Rajini) will fall in love with the heroine (Amala) and will marry her against the wish of the heroine’s mom. Then a cold-war starts between the mom in-law and the son-in-law and who wins the fight is ‘Mappillai’ all about.

Excited over this, the actress says that it is an honor to rub shoulders with international film celebrities. She revealed that she has discussed her costumes with her designer. Known for stirring up several controversies for wearing skimpy clothes during several events in Kollywood, she was quizzed about her preference, to which Shriya said that she would consider wearing clothes that will reflect the Indian tradition. The lady hinted that she may wear a saree during the event.

There were complaints against the office bearer and hence Silambarasan took action against him. Following this the angered Nagu along with few members of the fan club went to Silambarasan’s house to seek explanation. 

When matters went out of control Silambarasan walked into the house and call the police. Later with the intervention of the police the mob was cleared. Police protection was given to the actor’s residence following the incident.

Nayantara's last scene was shot at Tata Tea’s Munnar golf club, where a song was picturised on her and Dileep along with other junior artists in the backdrop of a college excursion.

The song, composed by Ouseappachan, was choreographed by famous choreographer Brinda’s assistant Poppy. Bodyguard is a typical fun movie with lots of emotion, fast and action-packed like a thriller.

The film has five songs written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. Ananthakkuttan cranks the camera. Also in the cast are Mithra, Undapakru, Janardhanan, Zeenat, Appahaja, Nandu, Seema G. Nair, Harisree Asokan, Anil Murali, Cochin Haneefa, Balachandran Chullikad and others. Bodyguard, earlier slated for a Vishu release, is now expected to grace screens in September.

The film according to sources, has been titled as 24 ( Irupathi Naalu) and it is “a thriller with a terrific twist”.

The big news is that Telugu heart throb Ileana, will be Vikram’s heroine in 24, which will have music by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by the master P.C Sriram.

Shruthi has composed a hip-hop song 'Easier Said Than Done', with a political message to it, a message linked to the crux of Unnaipol Oruvan. This song is to be made into a music video to be directed by Shruthi, with steps choreographed by Akshara who is a trained hip-hop and jazz dancer! Papa sure will be dancing to his girls tunes!

After knocking off those extra kilos and looking fit for his action film Peranmani, the young actor has put on weight and is back to being the chubby Ravi that he was.

Ravi who is now shooting for his next film, a remake of Telugu hit Kick under the baton of Anna (Elder brother) M.Raja says that the film will always remain special as it will be the first film for which he is facing the camera after his marriage.

Prabhu plays an important role as Ravi’s father in the film. Radha Ravi and Suhasini play serious roles in the film. The comedy department will have Vadivel and Santhanam, Mansoor Ali Khan, Livingstone, Thyagu, Satyan, Mayilsami, John Vijay, Jaiprakash.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for the film. It is for the first time that he is combining with Raja. There are five songs in the film which has lyrics by Vaale, Na.Muthukumar and Viveka. P.Rajasekhar is the cameraman for the film.

After romancing Mammootty in two films (super hit Annan Thambi and average Parunthu), Lakshmi Rai will now be his heroine for the third time in director Shafi's forthcoming action comedy Chattambinadu, scripted by Benny P. Nayarambalam.

Starring Mammootty in the role of Veerendra Mallaya, a Karnataka-based Malayalee estate owner with a Kannada accent, the film will start rolling on September 9 in and around Pollachi. Produced by Mammootty's recently-launched production company Play House, Chattambinadu will a Christmas release.

It is well-known fact that music composer Harris’s favourite singer is Bombay Jayshree. But it would be worthy to notice that this lady is not a part of this move. Instead, he has roped in another famous singer Sudha Ragunathan for “Yeno Yeno Panithuli”. He has impressively combined her talent with that of Rajasthani singer, Shail Hada, in this number.

“Maasi Maasi” is a typical tribal song sung by Mano, who has stepped into the filmdom after a long gap. Another singer who has lent her voice after a long time is Harini. Harris brings back his ‘Majnu’ and ‘Chellame’ singer, Sandhya (daughter-in-law of the veteran singer P.Susheela) with “Dheko Dheko”.

Earlier, both have given together ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘Varanam Aayiram’ and ‘Ayan’ and interestingly, they have a sixth venture on hand. All these movies have given us some memorable songs. Jayam Raja will direct his younger brother Jayam Ravi in Thillalangadi. Others in the cast include Tamanna, Shaam and Vadivelu. The shooting, according to our sources, will progress in several foreign locations including Malaysia.

Nadigar Sangam President Sarathkumar shared his thoughts on Kamal’s contributions in these 50 years, in a press meet recently. He also said that the big screen celebrities will initiate to rename the Eldams Road as Dr. Kamal Haasan Road soon. Director Murugadoss also announced this plan in another gathering that, “We should rename the Eldams road in Alwarpet as Kamal Haasan Road. However, the actress’s family was quick to react to it claiming that she was ‘safe and well’ at their ancestral house in Chandigarh.

According to Sonia’s brother, “Why should my sister attempt suicide? She is staying with us in Chandigarh for the past few days. She is fit and fine.”

The actress and her filmmaker husband applied for a divorce at a family court in Chennai on Wednesday. Since the couple filed for divorce with mutual consent, it is expected that the legal proceedings would be completed soon.

There was a buzz a few months ago that the marriage of Selva and Sonia was on rocks. However they ‘proved it false’ by attending the audio release ceremony of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ together. Sonia was one among the celebrities who lit the 'kuthuvilakku' at the event.

Sonia made her first appearance with ‘Kadhal Konden’ a film directed by Selvaraghavan that also had her brother-in-law Dhanush in the lead.

The hot and happening girl in Tollywood after that mega blockbuster Magadheera, Kajal Agarwal is the heroine of the film. In Tamil, she was last seen in Saran’s Modhi Vilayadu which did not set the cash registers ringing.

Karthi is yet to have a release since that pathbreaking Paruthiveeran in February 2007. The latest news is that his Lingusamy directed Paiyya will release first followed by Selvarghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan.

Naan Mahan Allai will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, camera by Madhi, art direction Rajeevan and will be shot in Chennai, Hyderabad and Vizakapatanam from September 4.

Says producer Gjnavel Raja: “Naan Mahan Allai is a fast paced film with action and romance mixed together, based on a solid script of Susindran, and Karthi is going to rock.”

Producer Udayanidhi Stalin and director K.S Ravikumar has already popularised one of the numbers from the film tuned by Harris Jayaraj. A, 45 second clipping of the song Hasilie Fisiliye…. sung by Karthik and Harini with rap by Dr. Burn and Maya is being shown at regular intervals on television.

Says Harris Jayaraj: “There is a surprise for my fans in Aadavan audio. The rap bit sung by Dr Burn will have the youth on their feet. I always had a hit combo with Suriya. His expressions and moves add value to the songs that I compose”.

This hit song in the film and has been picturised on Suriya and Nayanthara in South Africa. The song has been very well choreographed by Shobi. Think Audio who are releasing the audio has winner inAadhavan.

In this heroine-dominated script, Nayantara is to don the character of Alexandra.
Arya has been approached to play the male lead.

On the verge of completing the Aadhavan shoot in Tamil, Nayantara has a few pending projects in Telugu before taking the plunge in Malayalam after a long gap. Her last
Malayalam film was Thaskaraveeran (2005) opposite Mammootty.

It is said that she is looking out for a palatial house in 'Cyber Meadows', a very affluent residential area in Kondapur, Hyderabad.

Kondapur has got some sophistication and convenience when compared to other parts of the city, following which the actress is seriously searching for a bungalow there, it is learnt.

Anushka is currently busy with ‘Vettaikkaran’, opposite Vijay. This would be her reentry in Tamil cinema. Her first venture was ‘Rendu’, which had Madhavan in the lead.

While most of us pity the plight of the cute pup whining at the end of the street, Madhavan has joined hands with Blue Cross in their endeavour to find stray animals and give them food and shelter. Word has it that he has even bought a piece of land with the intention of building a place to house these homeless animals! Good job Maddy!

Now here is an interesting scoop to delight the confident team of ‘Kanthaswamy’ and eager fans. Chiyan Vikram’s magnum opus has taken almost all the theatres in Chennai for its release. Moreover when the reservation was opened, an entire week’s tickets were sold out by the same afternoon. And that’s a record, people!

On August 15th the Regional Censor Board in Chennai cleared ‘Kanthaswamy’’s Tamil version with a ‘U’ certificate, with cuts. The Telugu version of the film ‘Mallanna’ was cleared in Hyderabad on August 14th with a ‘UA’ certificate.

Wow… This is something like the biggest ever release for a south Indian film!

He has recorded one more song for SPB Charan's 'Capital film Works' Nanayam, along with Devi Sri Prasad, under the baton of music director James Vasanthan, with lyrics by Kavivarman.

The song Thanga kadhava thora da...vanga kadala siri da , is a peppy number and will be picturised on Sibiraj and Prasanna.

The film a thriller based on a bank robbery has Prasanna, Ragini, Yasmin, S.P Balasubramaniam and Sibiraj in a negative role. The film is directed by debutant Sakthi.S Rajan.

According to sources, the actress’ parents are very upset about her 'affair' with Prabhu Deva, which has partially ruined her fame and career in the film industry. They even reportedly met a famous astrologer to know about their daughter’s future. Prabhu and Nayantara are rumoured to be in love ever since they worked together in Villu.

Sources say that with back-to-back flops of her three films [Kuselan (Kathanayakudu in Telugu), Satyam (Salute in Telugu), Villu and Aegan], Nayantara feels that it is high time to revive her career; that’s said to be the reason why she has decided to concentrate more on her work and keep a distance from Prabhu Deva.

Nayantara is currently busy with three films: Adurs (Telugu), Aadhavan (Tamil) and Bodyguard (Malayalam).  The actress recently bagged a female-oriented role in a Telugu flick to be directed by Kodi Ramakrishna of recent Tollywood mega hit Arundhathi fame. The movie is to be a socio-fantasy-cum-graphical extravaganza like Arundhathi.

Raghavendra was pestering Sneha to marry him. The actress, after filing a complaint to the city police commissioner set a trap for the stalker.

Along with the help of Police, publicist John, and her uncle Suresh, Sneha asked Raghavendra to come to a star hotel in T.Nagar. The stalker walked into the trap laid by them and he was immediately arrested.

Says Sneha: “ He was harassing me for the last eight months and had approached my dad that he wanted to make Autograph-2. My father told him to approach director Cheran. Later he started sending me SMS’a asking me to marry him and also followed me to my shooting locations. Soon he started threatening me, it was then that I decided to call the cops.”

The movie has music by Dheena. Interestingly Nakul has sung a song ‘Aval Puruvathai Saithum...’ in his own voice for the album. Plans are on to shoot this song in Paris. The movie is directed by Sakthivel.

Says the actor, "I want to establish myself as an actor who can do varied roles. I want my films to be different from each other. This may sound clichéd to you. But the fact is so and you can feel this true in my upcoming movies."

Today (August 15), the Regional Censor Board in Chennai saw the Tamil original version and cleared it with a ‘U’ certificate, with cuts.

We had reported earlier that the Telugu version of the film Mallanna had been censored in Hyderabad on Friday with an ‘UA’ certificate.

The Susi Ganeshan directed film has been nearly two years in the making, and is one of the biggest movies ever in Tamil.

Says producer Kalaipuli.S Thanu: “I’m very happy that the censors have cleared Kanthaswamy, with a ‘U’ certificate. It is going to be the biggest ever release in over 900 screens.

Super star Rajnikanth formally started the website by clicking on it. A report suggests that the website will have various information about Four Frames Entertainments, namely Preview Theatre, Dubbing, DTS Mixing, Dolby Mixing, Editing, Camera and Lights. It was also said that the film industry could get in touch with four frames authorities for any query on post production work. While super star spoke, he expressed his greetings and appreciation to the development team and Four Frames Managements.
