But interestingly, the latest update is the versatile actor Prakash Raj will be replacing Surya as the host!

A source close to the channel informs, “Surya will not be hosting the second season. Prakash Raj has been approached to take over as the host this time. An official confirmation will be sent out in January.

When Surya was quizzed he also told media, “I am unable to accommodate time for this season. I enjoyed working on the first season of the show.”

Though Prakash Raj was not approachable, his wife Pony Verma confirmed that the channel has approached him and the decision is yet to be made final.

The ads are already up in the channel and the questions are being shown for the audience to participate in the quiz game show.

Arvind Swamy, who opted out of film industry to continue his business career, made a special appearance in Mani Ratnam's 'Alaipayuthey'. He will be seen playing a key supporting role besides Lakshmi Manchu and Thambi Ramaiah, Pasupathy and Ponvannan.

The film is also talked about for its technical crew which includes AR Rahman for music, Rajiv Menon for cinematography and A. Sreekar Prasad for editing.

This new project will be Gautham’s home production and it will focus on international issues. A majority of the film will be filmed in international locations to gel with the subject.

Suriya is currently busy completing Singam 2 and he has also signed on for Lingusamy’s next with Samantha as his pair.

It was said that Dhanush will be making a guest appearance in the film and now it has been confirmed that it will be an item song titled 'Kuthu' featuring Nayanthara too. The song will be choreographed by Bhaskar. This will be Nayan's third item song in Kollywood after “Kodambakkam area” in Sivakasi and “Ballelakka” in Sivaji.

Dhanush has also written and sung a song under Anirudh Ravichander's composition. The film's audio launch will be held on the 14th of December in Chennai and the audio rights have been bagged by Sony.

Ethir Neechal has Sivakarthikeyan, Priya Anand and Nandita in lead roles. Velraj is handling the cinematography, Noor Azwan is editing the film and Dhanush's Wunderbar films is bankrolling the project.

In the opening weekend, Thuppakki had earned Rs. 1.18 crores at the UK Box Office. The Tamil film has collected Rs 50 lacs in the second weekend on 11 screens. The total collection of the film in the UK and Ireland region is Rs 1.68 crore. The per screen average collection stands at Rs 2.11 lacs.

When it comes to the UK Box Office, Thuppakki has made Rs. 2.51 crores in 13 days. In the opening weekend, the film had collected Rs 1.76 crore and in the second weekend, the film managed to add Rs 75 lacs to its total. However, the Telugu version of the film has got decent response, as it has earned Rs. 14.49 lacs.

In the Australian Box Office, Thuppakki, which had earned Rs 37.99 lacs, has raked in Rs 8.74 lacs in the second weekend on five screens. Meanwhile, the movie starring Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal has the crossed 100-crore mark at the Tamil Box Office. It is the second Kollywood film to reach the feat after superstar Rajinikanth’s Endhir

Interestingly, Biriyani also records the 100th movie for Yuvan, who has composed for almost 900 tracks so far. The music composer Yuvan is gearing up for performing live for the first time in Malaysia on 15th December, at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. The curtain raiser for this Yuvan’s concert is happening today [Nov 28] at Sathyam Cinemas.

Udhyanidhi Stalin who made his debut with Oru Kal Oru Kannadi is working on his next with director Prabhakaran who made his directorial debut with Sundarapandian.

The film is said to be a comedy laugh riot with Santhanam teaming with Udhayanidhi once again.

Udhayanidhi Stalin had tweeted, "Nayanthara is playing the female lead role in my next film directed by SR Prabhakaran sir! Nd DOP is Balasubramaniem sir:)"

The film will commence its shoot January 2013 and the music score to be taken care by Harris Jayaraj as Udhayanidhi feels him to be his lucky mascot.

Interestingly it was Nayanthara who was supposed to do OKOK with Udhayanidhi, as she had worked with Director Rajesh earlier in Boss Engira Baskaran. As she was not signing any new films at that time, she had politely refused and then Hansika Motwani joined in.

Nayan is currently busy working on Ajith-Vishnuvardhan's untitled film, Krishnam Vande Jagatgurum with Rana Daggubati and Raja Rani with Jai.

The buzz is that after Mani broke the traditional Poosinika (Pumpkin) a ritual in Kollywood after completion of the shoot of the film and there was a wrap-up party for all unit members.

Thulasi Mani’s Kadal  heroine who is debuting with the film tweeted – “Wooohoo and that's a wrap people! The best time ever! Kadal  has come to end. I've never been so happy and sad! This was life changing!!”

Sources close to the unit say the entire shoot of the film is over except for a song which is being planned in Mani’s favourite location – Alapuzha in the backwaters of Kerala.

Krishnan, who was working as a hotel manager at a star hotel, complained about severe chest pain last evening at his workplace. He was immediately rushed to Yashoda Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The buzz says that the makers of the forthcoming film directed by Siva have approached Devi Sri Prasad and they are likely to seal the deal soon. Yuvan Shankar Raja and Anirudh Ravichander were also in the race but the movie bosses preferred Devi Sri Prasad. This will be DSP's first film with Ajith Kumar.

It may be recalled that after Anirudh Ravichander met Ajith Kumar in Mumbai last month, it was said that the young musician was roped in to score the music for the upcoming film. However, with this development, all the speculations related to the music director of Thala's next film have ended.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar and Anushka Shetty's movie name have been finalised. The title of the film, which was earlier said as Vetri Kondaan, is yet to be finalised. Other details about the project are yet to be revealed.

Rumours are rife that Andrea Jeremiah boycotted the birthday party of Anirudh Ravichander, who celebrated his 22th birthday on October 16. After their kissing photos were leaked, the actress choose to stay away from him. However, Silambarasan, Sonia Aggarwal, SJ Surya, Jai, Aishwarya Dhanush, Laksmi Manchu and others were present.

It may be recalled that Anirudh Ravichander, who shot to fame with 'Kolaveri di...' track, and actress-singer Andrea Jeremiah's relationship, which was known to public, exploded after their intimate moments were leaked through pictures on internet. However, unlike others, Andrea admit that it was their picture and was taken some 18 months ago.

The two had recently shot for the ad in Mumbai, which was directed by Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas.

Rumours are rife that Nayantara has been approached by the makers of Singam 2 for the special number in the movie. The early buzz says that she has not signed on the dotted lines, but the actress has given her verbal consent. It is said that Hari was the director, who introduced the 26-year-old girl to Tamil cinema in Ayya. It is this reason, which has made the actress to agree to give a nod for the item number.

However, Singam 2, which is a sequel to Singam, also stars Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles. The movie produced by KE Gnanavel Raja will hit the screens next summer.

Actor Jayam Ravi is for the first time donning dual roles. He is donning the role of a 24 years old young man and the role of a 48 aged old man.

Actress Amala Paul is donning the role of a middle class family girl who is in search of a job. Though Samuthirakani has been keeping the story in dark, it has been leaked now.

Jayam Ravi is an orphan kid. He studies in a ashram school. This school teaches him only the good things. After completing his school and college studies, he comes out as a 100% good person. He does not know to lie or do wrong things. But the world is filled with both good and bad.

He is not able to live as a good person even a single second. The society does not allow him to be a good person. Because of this he encounters lots of sorrows. Normally heroes in such situations will bash the villains and eliminate the evil but this is not so in the case of this film.

The hero will be good in this film and will do good the bad people and transform them. How this was possible is the screenplay of Nimirndhu Nil. There is no fighting and blood spilling in this film but this is an action with no violence. Samuthirakani has written this screenplay for the last four years. This is his dream project.

There are talks prevailing that Anirudh might compose for STR's Manmadhan 2 which is a sequel to 2004 superhit romantic thriller Manmadhan. However, we need to hear the official confirmations from both parties.

Simbu will be keen to make the album a superhit as Manmadhan turned out to be a successful album in Yuvan Shankar Raja's music. It is also said that both Anirudh and Simbu share a good rapport which has led to this partnership.

After the success of '3' album, Anirudh has composed tunes only for ad commercials and TV serials. The only film which Anirudh has in his kitty is the bilingual project (Hindi, Tamil) of Bejoy Nambiar starring Vikram and Jeeva.

Now the latest buzz among social networking site sis that the makers of Vijay's Thuppakki might go in for a title change and the rumored title is said to be Saravedi.

The fans of the star might be happy as title gives that mass appeal that is requeired for Vijay.

But an industry insider informs that there is no such idea, as the case is still pending in court. However a certain source also informs that some alternate names are being discussed to be changed, if in case the court asks them to change.

This is why even the teaser trailer and audio of the film has been kept on hold. However a press release sent by the makers have stated the film to be a Diwali release.

Meanwhile Vijay who will be starting his work on AL Vijay's film next after wrapping up Thuppaki is said to be in talks with the producers of the upcoming Ajith-Siruthai Siva project for a film.

A source from the production house informs, “We’d approached Vijay recently, and expressed our interest in making a film with him. He was keen and told us that he will definitely do one for us. We are yet to zero in on a director and the rest of the cast and crew. However, we haven’t signed any agreement as of now. We will start rolling with our Ajith-starrer in November. Only after this film starts rolling, will we concentrate on our next project.”

A source close to actor Vijay also informs that the production has indeed approached him. If the film prospects, the film might roll from 2012.

The musician, who has been hitting headlines for all good reasons, has been allegedly caught kissing singer-actress Andrea Jeremiah. A couple of pictures featuring them in intimate mood have been leaked by some miscreants on internet. However, like ‘Kolaveri di…’, these images have started going viral on internet.

However, the official statement on the picture from Anirudh and Andrea, who is all set for Kamal Hassan starrer Viswaroopam release, are awaited. This is not the first time where a celebrity couple has been caught smooching. Earlier, Silambarasan and Nayantara’s kissing pictures have hit the internet and shocked the entire industry.

Directed by popular Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar (Of Shaitaan fame), the film has Vikram and Jeeva as the lead actors. Lara Dutta has been paired oppostie Jiiva in this film.

Writing on her microblogging page, Lara posted: ‘Off to shoot for Bejoy Nambiar’s David. Being shot in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously! Unique experience of shooting in two languages!’

Jeeva is playing a musician in David, while Vikram a fisherman. Interestingly, the name of both of them is David.

With this, the interim stay on the title has been extended up to the above-mentioned date. It may be recalled that the makers of Kalla Thuppaki are objecting to the title Thuppaki as it is so similar to their title.

Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role. Kalaipuli S Dhanu is producing this venture.
