Rajapattai’s Telugu version will be released a week later – on December 30th. The film stars Vikram who has huge fan base both in Tamil Nadu as well as Andhra Pradesh. Deeksha Seth plays his heroine. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film, which has been directed by Suseenthiran.
Trisha and Vikram will once again share the screen space after Bheema. But it is not for a film as most of their fans would want it to be. The buzz we hear is that the stars have been signed up a major brand for their commercial. The name of the brand has, however, been kept under wraps for now.
Sources say that the shooting of this commercial will begin in Chennai and both the stars will participate in it.
Vikram and Priyamani are invited to attend the annual convention of FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America) in Connecticut, US as special guests. The premiere of the Hindi Raavan in London on Wednesday night was a glitzy affair, with the entire crew attending it along with celebrity guests like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

A fight sequence for the Mani Ratnam-directed Ravan involving Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was being filmed in a location near Mumbai when a bomb hurled exploded very close to the stars. The plan was to have the bomb explode in mid air, but unfortunately, it exploded near Vikram and Ash. Sensing trouble, the stars ran for safety and this saved them from the life-threatening situation.
The fight was choreographed by Shyam Koushik. He said that the mishap was due to improper timing.

Vikram and Tamanna have been selected for the Edison Awards 2009. The grand function in which the duo will be handed over the award will be held on February 14th in Chennai. Speaking about the Edison awards, its organizer Selvakumar said that this award is different from the other film awards. He added that Edison awards were given through the television channels in Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Canada, UK and Australia.
A cultural event will be organized by the television channels of these countries. Apart from Vikram and Tamanna, several other actors actresses and technicians will also be honored in this event. Ganesh Venkatraman will also be receiving an award for his performance in Unnaipol Oruvan.
South Indian super star Vikram has launched his own banner to produce a Tamil film featuring newcomers. According to latest reports, Vikram has been nurturing the idea of turning producer for a long time and is expected to rope in sensational director Sasikumar of Subramaniapuram fame to direct the film.
In an exclusive interview with a leading newspaper, Vikram said, "I have floated my own banner and our first untitled venture will be directed by Sasikumar. The film will feature newcomers. The technical team will comprise cinematographer Kathir and music director James Vasanthan, who have worked with Sasikumar before. After watching Subramaniapuram, I wanted to do a film with Sasi. I read the script, set in Chennai, and found it fantastic. I’m sure it would turn out to be a signature Sasikumar film."
Asked whether he would do a cameo in this film, Vikram said: "I would love to make an Alfred Hitchcock type appearance, but it will be Sasi’s call." Vikram recently completed Mani Rathnam’s Raavan and a three-week Ladakh schedule for Selvaraghavan’s film.
Chiyaan Vikram and writer and director Vikram Kumar of Yaavarum Nalam fame are coming together in producer Mohan Natarajan’s new film.
The film according to sources, has been titled as 24 ( Irupathi Naalu) and it is “a thriller with a terrific twist”.

Finally the wait is over. Chiyaan Vikram’s magnum opus Kanthaswamy is getting released worldwide on Friday, August 21.
Today (August 15), the Regional Censor Board in Chennai saw the Tamil original version and cleared it with a ‘U’ certificate, with cuts.
We had reported earlier that the Telugu version of the film Mallanna had been censored in Hyderabad on Friday with an ‘UA’ certificate.
The Susi Ganeshan directed film has been nearly two years in the making, and is one of the biggest movies ever in Tamil.
Says producer Kalaipuli.S Thanu: “I’m very happy that the censors have cleared Kanthaswamy, with a ‘U’ certificate. It is going to be the biggest ever release in over 900 screens.
V.Creation’s Kalaipuli S.Thanu has confirmed to the trade that his magnum opus directed by Susi Ganeshan Kanthaswamy will make it to the theatres worldwide on August 15.
For the last two days Thanu’s office was a beehive of activity as the trade people descended to see the new trailers and all the songs of the film at his home theatre.
The songs and trailer were slick and attractive and looked awesome. Imagine the clarity and colour on the big screen, was the statement made by many in the trade. Thanu says that trade is gung-ho about the film, which is expected to take a gargantuan opening.
While Speaking , Thanu said: “ Please inform the world that Kanthaswamy will hit the screens on August 15, for the big Independence day weekend in over 900 screens in its Tamil and Telugu versions.”
Director Mani Ratnam has been shooting for Raavan for the past several months. The filming of the climax scenes has just started and the director has got special permission from the Government of Kerala to shoot in certain interior regions of the Silent Valley forest reserve.
Raavan has Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai apart from Priyamani, Prithviraj and Vikram in important roles. This schedule would last for 45 days approximately, and the ace director also has plans to use a helicopter to reach certain remote and inaccesible areas.
The shooting for Raavan is expected to be complete in the next few months and let us hope that the film is a success!
