Double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman kicked off his 'A.R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour' began at the Nassau Coliseum in New York on June 11, 2010. This tour would span 16 major cities across the world. The organizer’s commitment was to give a 'theatrical experience' in each show utilizing new technologies in cities like New Jersey, Washington, Chicago and London. The Jai Ho crew hit a roadblock when an accident happened on the sets in Detroit during the initial prep for the show. Though no one was injured seriously, the tour was postponed to a later date.

In an effort to create awareness among the general public on the importance of eye donation, Vijay flagged off a rally recently, which was organized by the Rotary Rajan Eye Bank. The rally began at the Marina in Chennai with Vijay flagging it off in the presence of M. Subramanian, the Worshipful Mayor of Chennai.

Ajith is back again on the fast lane and is fully committed to the Mankatha crew for the completion of the movie. The teaser for Mankatha was released before two weeks which got a rousing reception from Ajith's fans. Ajith's next move after Mankatha would be Billa 2. Ajith had already asked director Vishnuvardhan, who directed Billa, to come up with a compelling script. Now with Mankatha in auto-pilot mode, Ajith is keen to start discussions about the script and other details of Billa 2.

Actress Asin has outright turned down an offer from producer Boney Kapoor. Bollywood circles allege the actress is stubborn. Boney Kapoor and Sridevi are Asin's neighbors in Mumbai and it is known that Asin is close to their family. Boney Kapoor offered Asin a role in his next movie but the actress declined the offer.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Kaavalan’ is rolling fast on floors of VIT College in Vellore. The film started rolling before 6 months in Chennai and shooting was held in various parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The original version ‘Bodyguard’ directed by Siddique featured Dhilip and Nayanthara sharing the screen space.
