Bubbly girl Genelia has completed the shoot of Urumi, directed by India’s most proficient cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Santosh Sivan in Tamil, Hindi, English and Malayalam. "That was a wrap for me on Urumi. Prithviraj is truly a fabulous co-star and Santosh Sivan is the bestest ever! I'm so glad I did this film, it marks my entry into the Malayalam industry. Fingers crossed, but raring to go," she tweeted.

Actor and political leader Vijayakanth has quit acting. He has quit acting since he will be fully concentrating on politics on the occasion of ensuing State Assembly elections. Vijayakanth entered politics with the intention that he wanted to become like M G R who saw Politics and cinema as his two eyes. Apart from acting and politics, he also became a director through the film Viruthagiri in which he also did the lead role but unfortunately this film did not do well at the box office. There was news that he is planning to direct another film. But now he has postponed this proposal. When enquired about this, it is learnt that Vijayakanth has postponed since he will be busy with elections.

Vijayakanth who is now deeply involved in politics is planning with whom to have the alliance in the forthcoming elections. In the recent public meeting at Salem, he has bombarded DMK Government. He has also planned to contest against Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in the forthcoming elections.
