Cloud Nine Movies has produced this action thriller which is rumoured to narrate the story of  match-fixing sagas in international cricket matches. Arjun will play the role of an investigative officer who takes up the task of exposing the bookies. The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has a huge star cast which includes Trisha, Arjun, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Premji, Ashwin, Vaibhav, Mahant and others.

Prabhu son of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan will be conferred with a doctorate by Satyabama University for "his valuable contribution in the field of art and cinema".

The  function is scheduled to take place on May 12  at Satyabama University campus.

Aishwarya told the media that Rajini is doing good and he has suffered from allergic bronchitis. The doctors attending to him have said that he needs complete rest for the next several days. She also said that Rajini will join the Rana unit when the doctors give him the go ahead. She appealed to all fans to maintain calm as their Thalaivar is not in any danger.

KS Ravikumar, the director of Rana said: "First and foremost Rana is an all new film. It has nothing to do with Sultan. When Rajini sir narrated the story, I got hooked to it and realised it has all
ingredients for a mass movie."

Ravikumar added that the film is a complete period drama that takes place in the 17th century. The shoot of the film has started on a huge set put up at AVM Studios.

Ravikumar has started the shoot with a song picturisation on Deepika Padukone. The song sung by Chinmayi and Sreenivas has been tuned by AR Rahman.

Deepika Padukone said at the press meet: " It is much more than a dream to be paired opposite Rajini sir. Such opportunities come only once in a lifetime."
