It was anticipated for many years and finally happened now. The star couple of K. Bhagyaraj and Poornima have been roped in to be the brand ambassadors for a major cooking oil brand.

Remember Oviya, the pretty lass who made her debut in Kalavaani? Oviya will now play a prominent role in Kamal Haasan's Manmadhan Ambu, directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film also stars Trisha, Madhavan and Sangeetha in prominent roles.

The South scope Cine awards ceremony was held in Hyderabad in a grand gala function on Sunday, September 19, 2010. The awards ceremony, instituted this year, recognizes talents of actors, actresses and technicians in a total of 11 categories. This year's show was hosted by Shaam and Shriya Saran. Sridevi Boney Kapoor was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The awards night was attended by the glitterati of South Indian cinema.

In an incident which raised eyebrows in the Kollywood circle, actors Ajith and Vijay met Jayalalithaa in the reception ceremony in the household of 'Saidai' Duraiswamy, former secretary of AIADMK, South Chennai. The reception was held at the YMCA grounds and was attended by politicians and actors from the K-town as well. Actor Ajith was present at the function with his wife Shalini. Wishing the newly married couple, Ajith fell at the feet of the AIADMK Chief, who was also on the stage, and took her blessings. He was also seen speaking to Jayalalithaa for a while.

Director Lingusamy has roped in Arya, Madhavan and Tamannaah for his next flick titled Vettai. "Vettai will be a  multi-starrer action-packed family entertainer that will have all the commercial ingredients one would associate with a Lingusamy film. There will be something different in the story presentation and packaging. As of now, Maddy is yet to sign the film. Talks are in an advanced stage and I hope he does the film," the director said to a leading daily.

Her first Bollywood movie is yet to release, but Lekha Washington is all set to hit the big league. When asked about her future projects, this actress who walked the ramp for Chennai desinger Vivek Karunakaran at Lakme Fashion Week, said she has signed a film with none other Amitabh Bachchan.

Trisha and Vikram will once again share the screen space after Bheema. But it is not for a film as most of their fans would want it to be. The buzz we hear is that the stars have been signed up a major brand for their commercial. The name of the brand has, however, been kept under wraps for now.
