34386ddb-d1a6-4bfc-812a-51dc6533e991OtherImageWhatever the superstar does makes news: be it his voting ‘style’, his going to the temple to offer prayers, etc.  Rajni visited the famous Kalikambal Temple on Saturday to offer ‘special prayers’ amid rumours that it was to seek the Goddess’ blessings for his  upcoming film ‘Rana’

Rajini and many Kollywood actors/actresses pay regular visits to the Kalikambal Temple situated at Parry’s Corner in the city.  Readers may recall that many sequences in his film ‘Baba’ were shown to be happening in and around this Temple, including the climax song ‘Sakthi Kodu…’.

The Temple has a rich tradition, with archaeological records stating that the great Marathi Emperor Shivaji had once visited this Temple and offered worship after placing his temple at the sanctum sanctorum.  After offering ‘special prayers’, a devotion-personified Rajini was spotted worshipping the Goddess.  After going around the Temple a few times, he left the place.

Rajni usually doesn’t involve in any major project before worshipping the Almighty and his spirital Gurus.  This has been his routine for the past many years.  In thisbackdrop, it is rumoured that Rajni’s visit and worship of the Goddess was to seek ‘celestial blessings’ to the commencement of the shooting of ‘Rana’ in a week’s time from now!

After delighting the audience with his Easan, actor or director Sasikumar will be seen working in front of the camera in his friend Samudirakani’s direction in Porali.

It is noted that the duo spent a few quality time in Kerala to produce the script ready for the shoot.

Porali may have two heroines to romance Sasikumar and Trisha and Anjali were considered for this.

Although Anjali had immediately agreed to star in this Samudirakani’s film unmindful of her screen space, Trisha has apparently declined the offer citing non-availability of dates.

The unit is looking for a better alternate and the shooting will commence once these details are firmed up.

Jiiva's Ko, which has opened to great appreciation worldwide, has created some waves in Simbu's Facebook fans page. Not many know that Simbu was Anand's first choice for Ko. Some felt that the film had a political dimension to it which would not suit their hero while others felt that Simbu has missed a golden opportunity to work with K.V. Anand. Interesting, the page received more than 100 messages within a few hours after the release of Ko. But this has not gone well with Simbu; he immediately reacted, "Doing a movie and not doing it is an actor's personal choice. I welcome your comments and at the same time I don't want anyone to talk bad about other films in my page... I am from the same industry and i respect cinema and want all movies to do well for our industry."

Simbu also revealed that his much-awaited film Vaanam will grace theatres on April 29, 2010 and he assured his fans this film 'will not let them down'.
