Shankar has taken her after watching her performance in Rajesh directed Siva Manasulla Sakthi . Anuya is playing Ileana's elder sister in the film.
In the Hindi version, Mona Singh played Kareena's pregnant elder sister who goes into labour pain at a time when there is a heavy storm which cuts all power and traffic.
Our hero Vijay under instructions over the phone from his doctor girlfriend Ileana will help Anuya to deliver the baby using a cobbled-together vacuum extractor! The scene is one of the highlights of the film. Anuya is all excited about doing the role done by Mona Singh.
She is very clear that she is doing it because "it is a Shankar film"!
